A proverbial saying, often used in circumstances where it is thought that saying nothing is preferable to speaking.
We are not men of words, we are men of action. Maybe before we become men of action, we ought to first be men of prayer. I think that this might be common among men, but I tend to do first and pray later. I tend to be a guy who, when I am faced with a challenge, tries to fix it first and pray about it only if my efforts don’t succeed. I have been learning that I would probably be better served if I would pray first and act later.
Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent – Proverbs 17:28
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ – Romans 10:17
He who has ears to hear, let him hear – Matthew 11:15
We must face it…despite our best efforts…there are situations in the lives of our wives that can only be solved by God. Someone told me once that God gave us two ears and one mouth, so we could listen twice as much as we speak. God gave us two knees too.
Listen. Love. Pray.
Be Strong. Act Like Men.
