“A good marriage is a union of two good forgivers” – Ruth Graham Bell
Conflict is rarely about one person being right and the other being wrong. It is usually about two different people with different expectation and needs. Taking responsibility for your own part in the situation will help to resolve the issue. Listening and talking through issues will often provide an acceptable solution. But….if we want to restore our relationship and feel connected again – we need to forgive. Forgiveness mean letting go of the offense and letting go of control. Like love – it is not a feeling. Forgiveness is a choice. If you have been hurt – forgiveness helps you let go of resentment. Your ability to forgive the one who has hurt you, and ask for forgiveness if you caused the hurt, are both linked to our relationship with God.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” – Ephesians 4:32
