Vision to match the purpose

We talked about encouraging our children…speaking to their potential.   It got me thinking about helping them to start pursuing a vision for their lives.

Yes…I understand. Attempting to get a teenager or young adult to focus on a vision of where they would like to take their lives can be equal to banging your head against a wall. After all…when we were that age most of us weren’t concerned about anything beyond the weekend with our friends.

What can we do? I think that it is important to let them know that God has a great plan for their lives. God created them on purpose for a purpose. I don’t think that this is a concept that easily understood by kids. It’s hard enough to remember this as an adult.

“Where there is not vision, the people perish” – Proverbs 29:18
