Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” – Mark 4:30-32
Have you ever struggled with trusting God’s plan?
I have. I believe that God has a plan for my marriage and our family. That said – it is hard at times to always have the faith needed to overcome the challenges of life. We are condition to focus on where we are and what we see rather than see where we are called to go.
I’d ask you to consider planting a seed to grow a plant…..you have the seed in your hand. You dig a hole. You plant the seed and cover it with dirt. And then you cannot see it anymore. It’s there, but you no longer can see it. You’ve given up your control over the seed. You can nurture it through actions, but you have to trust the growth process. Even after the seedling emerges you still have to trust the growth process and weather challenges until you can reap the harvest from that little seed planted in faith.
It’s not much different than what God is asking of us as husband. Plant our marriages in His soil, nurture it, tend to it and have the faith to trust in His plan.
